I took a break from Pin Up of the Week last week, and I have a great gal to introduce to those of you not familiar with her work, Natasha LaVelle. Here is more about her in her own words! You can also follow her on Facebook!
I’m Natasha and I’m a pinup from southeast PA. I’ve always had a love of pinup and have been a collector of vintage/retro clothing for years. I remember as a little girl having my grandmother style my hair in big rollers to give me that classic look. It was one of my favorite things. I never thought that years later that love would turn into what it has.
I have known Nicole from Making Faces Professional Makeup for years and would always see her post different shoots that she and Michael were doing. I had wanted to do one for a while (as a photographer, I was a HUGE fan on Michael Bann’s work), so I finally took the plunge and booked a Hot Rod shoot! That was it! I was hooked! That shoot was for the Christman’s calendar, and when I saw my images in there, I couldn’t believe that those pictures were me! I felt beautiful…for the first time in a long time.
I’ve since booked several other shoots and have been lucky enough to be in 2 of Michael’s calendars and the pinup poker deck. I have also been published in Delicious Dolls and Garters and Grills magazines.
I am so grateful to be a part of this community. I love everything it stands for and the support and friendship of these wonderful women (and men) that I have met along the way!
