With everything that has been going on with me the last few years, I haven’t been living my best life, you could say. Actually, the past year, I got really depressed before finding out all that is wrong with me. I have made a decision this spring that I cannot live that way anymore, and if there is anything I have learned from having some scary health events the past few years, it is that we need to live our lives to the fullest.
I created a bucket list. Some of it is really simple…such as silly date ideas or attending festivals and fairs again. Others are going to take time, such as seeing all of my favorite bands. Apocalyptica is one of them…okay, so they kinda ARE my favorite band. I discovered them as a teenager and have been obsessed with this Finnish dream team ever since. Getting to see them in concert, however, has not always been the easiest. I lucked out and saw them some years back at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, PA. It was an amazing show! You had people who were tweens…all the way to old people! I was pretty far back though and really wanted an opportunity to see them up close.
Their Metallica tour this year gave me that opportunity. They played at the Agora Theater at the end of May, and I got my chance to see them super close. I was right up to the stage! It was ah-maz-ing! Seriously, the stuff these guys can do with a cello is just astounding. They can put them over their heads and play. They can make them sound like heavy metal. These guys are super talented!
The Agora Theater is a pretty nice smaller venue. They have parking in the back of the theater, which granted, we had to walk to the front. However, it beats trying to find another place to park. The area has plenty of security, and it was really well-organized. As someone who also suffers from anxiety, the whole experience was quite pleasant. I loved it!
I have been adding to my bucket list all summer, and I cannot wait to share with you all some of the other things I have been doing like other concerts and festivals I have attended. To be honest, I feel like it is giving me back my youth! I think everyone should have a bucket list. It doesn’t even have to be things you will accomplish this year or even next. However, it gives you things to look forward to doing. We all need goals!
What are some of the things on your bucket list? Who is your favorite band? Please feel free to share with me in the comments below. Also, if you know someone who could really use a post like this, be sure to share it too!
