While I love all my summer dresses and even have tights on order to keep my legs warm while wearing some of them this winter, I do love cozy fall and winter wear! This time of year is a little too warm to wear those big, bulky, yet comfy sweaters. However, I have some great ideas for fall to winter transition plus size outfit inspiration that I wanted to share with you today!

I thought it would be fun to show off some of my favorite looks for this time of year. I picked a lot of pieces that are timeless, some of which I have worn for multiple years. I also included some trends for this year too, like animal prints and denim jackets. I love to look on trend. However, I also love when I can wear something year after year too!

The Denim Jacket

Hidden within my closet for probably 7 or 8 years is this denim trucker sherpa jacket. I noticed it was making a comeback, and now I am glad I hung onto it. You can wear it with a graphic tee or keep it simple with a plain tank or long sleeved shirt.

I also found some cute denim jackets of other colors, like this one from Torrid! It is simple but can be classy or even punk, depending what you wear underneath!

Dusters and Cardigans

I love a good cozy cardigan. When winter brings its harsh cold to the midwest, I have a cardigan for just about every day! I purposefully chose some extremes for this shoot because I wanted to show how to wear bold colors and whites, especially if you fear being washed out by light colors in winter.

The White Duster

I found this gorgeous duster at a Torrid clearance sale a few years back. This is my favorite piece for cooler weather. It works for fall, winter, and spring. I remember worrying that I might look washed out. Therefore, I always pair it with a dark top.

White Cardigan

After seeing how nice I looked in the duster, I gave this thrifted cardigan a try last year. I love the way it looks on me. Also, it is super cozy and can be worn in the fall with something light underneath. It still works for winter with a long sleeved shirt underneath!

Something Bold and Bright

This fall, I fell in love with this lacy mustard yellow duster. I have seen similar styles at both Torrid and Lane Bryant this fall. I decided to pair it with this lovely burgundy hat, and it is so fun and so chic!

Sweater Weather

While I don’t want to get out the big sweaters just yet, I do love a cozy sweater. I found this burgundy one at Lane Bryant this fall. It is simple and can be dressed up or dressed down.

I also love this gray one. It is a bit different and a little awkward. However, I do have a lot of fun wearing it. Also, it works well with a long sleeved tee when the weather gets chillier.

A Walk on the Wild Side

Animal prints are so hot right now! If you recall, a few bloggers and I covered how to wear them in a post earlier this fall.

I love my blazer because it can be dressed up or dressed down. I can be classy or punk. I love this jacket so much!

Welcome to our Ageless Style Series where a group of us share how to wear certain styles at any age. This season's theme is animal print and how to wear animal print in the fall!

In addition to the blazer, I found this super cute kimono too! It works with dresses, tees, and long sleeved shirts too!

There is nothing better than layering, I found out when visiting my daughter’s cabin for Thanksgiving, a little colder than I am used to, so adding a sweater and scarf took off the chill. Thank you for sharing on #omhgff this week! Stop by again soon! Wishing you Happy Holidays!!

I love dusters and cardigans, they’re a must for fall; and of course the denim jacket, which goes with just about anything. Love the outfits!
