While crop tops, bodysuits, and hats may not sound that daring, so many women shy away from them because of what society says. You wear a fancy hat, and people look at you like you are weird. You wear a bodysuit, and people say, “How Dare you be confident in your skin.”
Let me just start by saying that I love the art of Cosplay! However, when it comes to sewing skills and costuming…well I kinda stink at it. I know I cannot be the only one that lacks certain skills, so I thought I would give a bit of introduction today on some things I have done in the spirit of cosplay while I continue to work on my costuming skills!
Supporting small businesses has always been important to me, and if you have been following me for a bit, you know I love to give shout outs from time to time to some of my favorite small businesses! With it being International Women’s Day, I thought it would be a good time to share about my birthday day trip up to Lakewood, OH that I took and spent the day supporting small women-owned businesses and loving every bit of it!
While my issues may prevent me from my original plans, there is no reason that I have to give up on life or all my dreams. I just need to modify them to fit the situation. If you happen to see something on Instagram or Pinterest…or even when you are out and about, but you don’t know how to get a hold of it in your size, try these tips. I very much suggest this especially when it comes to vintage inspired dresses because I see a lot of my favorite prints by my favorite designers being passed off on Amazon and Ebay as knockoffs. Sometimes things happen that screw up our plans and goals so badly that we want to give up, that we can’t see a happy ending, or that we think we cannot obtain our dreams. Don’t give up on your dreams! Re-evaluate them. Start slowly. Start simply and build on that.
Sourpuss makes a lot of cool dresses and accessories. However, you can find their clothing at small retailers like Sudzy’s, which is nice because she is a peach, but also smaller retailers really help you find dresses that fit your style!
Last Fall, I did this amazing shoot with Ivory Rose Photography for Heels For Combat
The other week, I found this adorable black sundress at a local plus-size thrift
CowCow can be found on Amazon, which is where I got this one. A lot of the dresses are Prime shipping. However, this one is not, but it is still free shipping and takes about two weeks to receive from the time of order. Granted, I am impatient, but it still is not that long. The quality is pretty good. A lot of my dresses are still like brand new. They are super stretchy and may be a bit short for a taller person, but they pair great with leggings!
